5 out of 5 stars Lego Harry Potter is alot more fun then EA's Harry Potter games.   June 25, 2010

As with all the lego games the cutscenes are very funny and for me this is the best lego game since Star Wars: The Complete Saga. You get to play as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and there are over 100 playable characters for you to unlock. The Stylus is used for casting different spells which are fun to use, talking to the many different characters, solving puzzles. The Harry Potter universe is captured brilliantly in it's lego form with the films music in the background. You get to have fun with potion making and the puzzle solving is set at just right level for the younger Harry Potter fans out there or not such able gamers.
This is important there is no two-player co-op mode for us to enjoy on the DS version of this game like we could on Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Both the two main uk websites state in there write up about this game on the ds that there is a co-op mode.
This Lego Harry Potter game only covers years 1-4 and that means we should have another Lego Harry Potter game at some point that covers the years 5-7. This is a must have game for all Harry Potter fans and I can't wait for the next one.

I really enjoyed playing this game and I am an adult! Really good fun for any Potter fan. It is easy to follow, and the link footage is really very good! Pity you only get to see it in story mode. I would recommend this, but be warned once you start playing you will find it hard to put down.

Bought for my 8 year old son who has played on this endlessly. Absolutely hooked by the challenges and continually changing levels to succeed at. Excellent game.

THIS IS AN AMAZING GAME, GOT IT FOR MY BIRTHDAY AND HAVE NOT STOPPED PLAYING IT SINCE.I LOVE THE DIFFERENT CHARACTERS YOU CAN BE LIKE - HARRY, HAGRID RON ETC AND WORKING THROUGH THE QUESTS AND CHALLENGES.IT FOLLOWS THE STORY FROM THE FILMS BUT WITH A FEW EXTRA TWISTS.IT IS AN ENTERTAINING GAME AND VERY HUMEROUS AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent DS game   August 3, 2010

Although I have had my DS for nearly three years, I am still not much of gamer, often prefering games I can pick up and put down as I please. I am, however, a huge Harry Potter fan. This game captured beautifully both of these pleasures!

The game play itself is very straight forward, with clear instructions throughout. The spell casting with the stylus appears difficult at first but very quickly becomes second nature. The only thing I have missed from previous lego games is the ability to select and do things using the key pad. The game does requre a basic reading level, to be able to follow the instructions, but once the instructions are known, the game play is the same throughout. The free play and story mode give two different styles of play and plenty of hours of game play.

The game follows the story follows the films rather than the books, but covers all the story, with a humour that carries through from all the lego games, and fits so well with the Harry Potter story.

I played the game straight through in a week, with another few days playing the free play. (A particular joy as one you have unlocked the characters with the chocolate frog cards, you can play as any character you please, not just Harry) I finally finished the game after 22 hours of play, and it was worth every hour, and every penny.
